The Palin family is getting beat up worse than a fag at a Texas barbecue. Most of the bad stuff centers on Bristol Palin, Sarah's 17-year-old daughter, who has gone and gotten her tarty little self knocked-up. The timing of this revelation was sort of unfortunate as it came upon the heels of a big liberal media-stoked rumor that Sarah's Down Syndrome baby Trig (nice name fuckstick) was actually Bristol's. Now things have been ratcheted up another notch thanks to the baby's father, a hockey-playing little twit named Levi Johnston. Clearly, the McCain/Palin camp didn't get to Levi fast enough with the hush-money, because he's already blabbering away on his MySpace page, saying he "doesn't want kids." Of course he doesn't want kids - he's in high school. And he's a complete dipshit as this self-description from his page attests:

Keep in mind that when Clinton was running and after he was elected, it was made clear by him and Hillary that Chelsea was off limits as far as the news media was concerned, as it should have been. For the most part their orders were respected, but when somebody did report or question something pertaining to Chelsea, they were punished.
When Gore was running and his kid got busted for DUI, it was mentioned once or twice but nobody suggested he should end his candidacy and go look after his son.
Just as Clinton and Gore's kids were non-issues as far as the news media is concerned, the same should apply to Palin's kids. But then nobody ever accused the news media of being non-partisan or fair with their reporting.

I am a democrat, and I am a right-to-lifer, as well. In my work, I have seen tiny little babies (miscarriages, stillbirths, etc.) born way too early, and there is no doubt in my mind that these are human beings.
I also believe that adults have a right to life, and we should not be killing each other in wars, and I believe that babies and children have a right to a quality of life. . . not something that republicans often bother themselves with when it comes to legislation. (It was president Reagan who decided that ketchup on a burger constituted a "vegetable" serving on school lunches.)
The reason I am posting this, is because I would like to offer up the idea that Palin is a poor choice for ANY political office right now. She has an unmarried, pregnant teen daughter, a baby with Down's syndrome, and other children, as well. Wouldn't the best example of practicing family values be to bow out and take care of business at home? The baby needs more than the usual care and the pregnant teenager will need her (if she actually gets married, it will most likely be a rocky situation, and if she doesn't--Sarah P. herself may end up raising the baby in addition to her other children). Palin is showing a total lack of judgment by accepting the vp nomination, and is showing a lack of support for and understanding of family values and the absolute essence of what it means to believe in the right to life.

One of the real reasons that this presidential election is so important, is because of probable supreme court nominations. There are several justices set to retire soon (three, I think), and the leanings of the president, will reflect in those he nominates, and in the laws of this land. I am not pro-choice, but I think a little consideration to the greater issues should be expressed. It's not all personality, and such. . . our liberties and ways of life are at stake.
I don't want to trust any of this to a backwoods, Alaskan mayor, whose own house is not in order. (I know she is now governor, but only for a year and a half, and prior to that, her only political experience was as a mayor of a town of 5,000.) She just is not qualified to make the big decisions.
