Dr. Drew Caves in On Tom Cruise Remarks

Thursday, June 12, 2008

Dr. Drew said Tom Cruise's interest in Scientology grew out of a deep emptiness caused by childhood neglect. Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields slammed Drew, comparing his comments to the rantings of Joseph Goebbels. Now Drew has apologized to Cruise.

"Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful," said a rep for Mr. Pinsky. "Although Mr. Fields's intent is clearly to slander and discredit Dr. Drew, under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand. Again, Dr. Drew meant him no harm."

Again, Scientology wins.

No, Cruise's interest in Scientology was because of their interest in his money. He's a big fish in a small pond. That's all Scientology cares about, always has been. Oh, and the fact that he's a narcissistic midget.

June 9, 2008 -- WHICH star of a new TV hit has Hollywood scrambling to the pharmacy? He's spreading herpes around town like wildfire . . .

Doesn't sound like a retraction, only an appeasement. I don't think Scientology wins this one.
