Tom Cruise Now Wants to Run a Marathon

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Tom Cruise apparently can't stand the fact that wife Katie Holmes is in shape to run a marathon and he isn't...so, now Tom is reportedly in training, and will take a stab at running the Boston Marathon himself.

"When he saw her running that race," a source said, "something kicked inside him and he decided he’d have to do it — possibly in Boston. That’s the kind of guy he is."

Tom has reportedly vowed to "crush" Katie's time of 5 hours and 29 minutes.

I'm telling you...Tom won't be able to live with himself until he proves to Katie that he can run the marathon too, and of course beat her time. She probably doesn't even care, but he's all like, "I can run a marathon you know. I can totally run a marathon. I can run two marathons in the same day. I bet you can't run two marathons in the same day. That's what being a Scientologist is all about...running two marathons in one day."

This guy's like your little brother who has to do everything you do until you just want to kick him in the face over and over. But trust me...don't kick him in the face. That's how you wind up getting hauled in for an evaluation.

I wonder if he'll pull the same marathon stunt Katie allegedly did. You know...show up at the finish line unsweaty and quite refreshed looking. And only hours later show up on a red carpet looking positively ravishing in heels.

I live in a coastal city where there is a huge, and I mean huge percentage of the population that not only runs, but participates in the many marathons our city holds during the year. Everyone is in agreeement here that based on multiple indicators, Katie Holmes DID NOT, COULD NOT have run the majority of that race. I don't care that Tom's PR people did a bunch of damage control trying to convince the public otherwise once they began to question it. Katie Holmes is a liar. Plain and simple. I think prior to meeting Tom, she probably would not have participated in a deceptive stunt like that. But since becoming a Scientologist, it has become too easy for her to justify a whopper of that magnitude. Scientology is all about smoke and mirrors and deluding the public into believing that Scientologists are capable of amazing things. I'm sure the fact that she skipped the majority of that marathon and then lied about it, was only too easy for her because of the greater good she felt would result; i.e. the boost it would give Scientology. If she ever disentangles herself from that cult and Tom, I think she will be deeply ashamed of the lie she perpetuated on the public in regards to the Boston Marathon.

Running, and marathons in particular are extremely difficult. Even for the youngest and most fit. Especially the races that are as long as the Boston Marathon. She shouldn't have participated in it if she couldn't compete fairly. She had some nerve going on The Tonight Show and continuing to lie about the race. I wanted to reach through the t.v. and slap the snot right out of that lying bitch.

^ I agree with you on the points you made, but just out of curiosity, weren't there cameras on her most of the time? It's just an idea I had. I didn't watch the marathon and at all and had no idea she even ran in it until the news that night.

I have a friend that has run the Boston. And he had to pre qualify by running in other races prior to that. He ran in Chicago & others. I didn't know you could JUST sign up & do it. I thot it was a process. My friend is a cross-country coach and it took him a few years to qualify to do it. I don't get this deal at all. You just sign up & run? WTH?

Brett - 12:17 PM,

Cameras were not on Katie the whole time. Not even close. Once experienced runners started to raise doubts about Katie's full participation in the race, Tom's PR people went to work and started making statements to the media that were clear attempts to gloss the whole thing over. He also had photos put out in the media of her at random points in the race. But there were several problems with those photos. The photos show a very relaxed person who bore no resemblance to someone who had been running for many miles. No sweat, no fatigue, no bra. Nothing. Secondly, there were huge gaps in the race where Katie Holmes was not seen by anyone. Not other runners, not photographers, not the media. She was just missing. When the people that did the digging on the whole thing finally connected all the dots, it was clear she could NOT have run the whole race or even the majority of it. It was also uncovered that the man that was seen next to her at various points in the race and who had the appearance of being just another runner, was in fact a Scientologist (not a bodyguard) that was a known employee of Tom's. They feel that based on the evidence, he was most likely the person who facilitated her deception. Additionally, there were many other indicators to experienced runners that she hadn't run the whole race; one being the fact that she was in high heels and walking the red carpet with ease a few hours later. I saw that clip of her on the red carpet. The woman is a liar.

^ Thank you for clearing that up, it made a lot of sense. I just assumed that if it was common knowledge she was running in the race, there would be hundreds of paps and the people lining the streets would have cameras and her pace would have been documented over and over. I've done only a little running in my life (one or two miles a day) and I do agree with you 100% on the high heels that same night.
