TMZ reports that Heath Ledger was sick with pneumonia at the time of his death. A police report says two bottles of sleeping pills were found on the stand next to his bed. Sleeping pills can cause flu sufferers to develop pneumonia by inhibiting the gag reflex and allowing bacteria to drip more easily into the lungs.

Wow, I've taken Ambien all kinds. Sometimes I do take an extra pill when I don't feel it working, I'm scared now, holy shit, I'll go old school and just drink to fall asleep.

I've taken Ambien for years, it's a good mild clean sleep aid, but, NOT when you have respitory probs. I found that out the hard way. All you fucking doctors on here..cripes.
Yes my doctor will only give me a weeks supply of Ambien too which is very annoying cause people with insomnia don't just get over it in a week. I know times I've taken it and have periods where I don't remember what I did so Ambien is kinda of a scary sleeping aide, but it does work for the most part.
Hey everybody - one of my closest friends was taking Ambien and fatally OD ed by accident. Be frkn careful.
Pneumonia - I'm not sure if this report means to say that the drugs inflicted the pneumonia, oneumonia just means fluid in the lungs; but pneumonia is something that immunodepressed people get. Like people with AIDS and the elderly and sometimes junkies.
