Britney Spears and her mother Lynne reportedly got into a physical altercation last month after Lynne showed up at Britney's place demanding to have some time with the grandkids. Unfortunately, the producers of Cops were not on-hand at the time to record the whole thing for posterity, or we would've had some kicking video.
According to Star Magazine, the slapfight between Brit and Lynne led directly to the now-famous public paper-handing on the set of Jamie Lynn's TV show. But Lynne is apparently not bitter about what went down between her and her darling Brit Brit - in fact, she's more concerned than ever now about Britney's health. According to Lynne, Britney is suffering from depression and needs to be on medication - you now, besides booze and laxatives.

So is Britney depressed or just plain-old-everyday crazy? A new report from Page 6 would seem to support the latter. According to that venerable gossip institution, Britney has fired pretty much everyone, and is currently serving as her own manager and publicist. Yes, apparently Britney's displays of bizarre public behavior and dubious fashion sense are not merely the actions of a stupid nutbag - they are in fact her publicity strategy. And, considering how much play she gets in the tabs and blogs, it appears her plan is working. Scary.

You really think, Crabbie that Britney has all of these dark, premeditated pubilicity "strategies"? Methinks you have too big an imagination at times. No one (in my opinion) consciously chooses to ACT insane, depressed, violent, irresponsible, self destructive, If one is consciously choosing one is in control of oneself and one's actions and reactions. Do you really imagine she's that shrewd, clever, and calculating? Give me a break.
My heart goes out to both of them, but particularly to Lynne. Britney is having a crisis, but her mom is paying a price. How horrible is it to watch your daughter destroy herself? So, so sad.
Lynne Spears created this monster , just like Dina Lohan created Lindsey & it's not just Hollywood stage moms ! Take a look at the majority of these kids today ( shaking head ) we are fucked as a country if this shit ( poor parenting )continues !

You can always tell when a celebrity is in the middle of a career free fall when they fire everyone in their circle, and become their own publicist, and manager. Britney Spears is a tragic combination of mental instablity, ignorance, and tenacious willfulness. I think she can only get the help she needs when she finally hits rock bottom. In the meantime, she will continue to wipe out her previous image in pop music by replacing it with the image of a uneducated, unkept, and delusional has-been. The Urban Dictionary will list a new term for such a huge fall from grace, as "Doing a Britney Spears".
