Forget about Britney - Amy Winehouse is the real queen of musical trainwrecks. The beehived songstress, who tellingly had a hit with a tune about her refusal to go to rehab, outdid herself at Cornwall's Eden Project Tuesday night. Fans say Amy seemed fine for the first couple of songs, but then she suddenly ran off-stage, and when she returned she seemed confused and could no longer remember the words to her songs. She spent much of the remainder of the performance slapping herself in the face and hitting herself in the head with her microphone, swearing and rubbing her nose. Devotees of the wacked-out singer who'd managed to last this long were then properly offended when Amy decided to spit at them. The singer finally dropped her mic and staggered off, to a chorus of boos and jeers. Said one ex-Winehouse fan:It was a bizarre performance. She was disorientated, disinterested and dishevelled. I paid a lot of money because I was a huge fan - but I am not anymore.
I don't know what this fan is so bent out of shape about - sounds to me like Amy put on a hell of a show. What, you want to stand there listening to some broad boringly belt out tunes? I'd rather witness the spectacle of a gifted person pissing their talent away. It's tragic and poignant and apparently quite hilarious.

It sounds a lot like the same emo shit she has been doing all her life for attention. Cutting herself with broken glass during interviews, her claims of constantly slapping herself, and hurting herself by hitting her head against things as a child. Now hitting herself on the head with a microphone. Still, no one pays much attention to it. The starving herself to nothing approach seems to get a lot more attention.
She either needs to get treated, or grow up. I sincerely do not know which.
She is a incredible singer. She has a fantasticly bold, and unique sound. A new HBO series "Mad Men" is using her song "You Know that I'm No Good" as the theme song. She reminds me of Billie Holliday. What a voice, what a talent. I hope that someone does something to help her with whatever demons she is facing, mental illness, drugs, depression. It would be a terrible waste to lose her so early in her career.
Why is it that the ones who are born with such incredible talent are so often so messed up?

She's asking for ROCK bottom...stupidly going after it like it makes her "SPECIAL". She's on the road to oblivion. And man is she ON it!! She's making a career out of being mentally and emotionally ill. The wonder is, people praise her, buy her records, and actually leave their homes to go see her
in the flesh. Billie Holiday is dead because she just couldn't keep her attention off of all the shit in the world. Amy is just doing the same ho hum thing.
Amy's problem is that she knows how talented she is. People constantly give these people a free walk through life because of their talent. It's a shame she doesn't respect the people who are willing to expose themselves to her. I will never again go to one of her concerts. Just looking at her makes my flesh crawl. She's anasty, vile, ugly skank.
Wow. Didn't she just become famous, like, last week? Why's she fucking herself over so early? That's supposed to happen years down the line.

I agree that all of Amy's problems seem self inflicted. She is the one who is doing this to herself, for whatever reason. Her fans, who have stood by her- are the ones that deserve the sympathy now. She rewards their loyalty to her by coming on stage totally wasted, leaving them short changed, and spitting on them.
She deserves what she gets. It it don't look pretty.
It looks like someone needs to try a little harder to make her go to rehab......I say, 'yes, yes, yes'.
Man, she shouldn't be touring at all. Her people should immediately cancel all commitments until she gets her shit together...for her sake.
It's easy to point and laugh from a distance...say it's all self-inflicted, but any kind of mental disorder is a tragedy and affects your judgement and ability to help yourself. You might be pissed off about her cancelling a show or acting bizzare...but I assure you that Amy and all the people who care about her are suffering far more.
Anyhow, you never really know what it's like to be in someone elses shoes, so I'm reserving judgement and just hope that she finds some peace in her life...like I'd wish for anybody.
Be thankful it is not you!
